ABOUT

THE ARTIST

Bethany Adams is a fine art photographer whose practice is rooted in a lifelong exploration of perspective and form. She began her work in photography in 1998 with 35mm film and has since embraced the possibilities of digital media, while maintaining a strong connection to the discipline and intentionality of her early analog practice.

Adams studied at Columbia College Chicago, where she developed a foundation in both technical craft and visual storytelling. Her work is informed by a deep engagement with the natural world, often seeking to reveal aspects of place and detail that might otherwise go unnoticed. Through considered composition and a sensitivity to light and texture, she invites viewers to reimagine the familiar and to encounter the world from perspectives that are often unseen.

Her photography serves as an invitation to pause, observe, and rediscover the quiet beauty embedded in the everyday environment.

Stay in the

know

In this series, Cowboys, I turn my focus to a profession rooted in tradition and everyday labor. By shifting perspective, I seek to move beyond the expected imagery and instead highlight the quiet strength, resilience, and beauty within this way of life. What may first appear ordinary is transformed, offering a renewed appreciation for the dignity and artistry embedded in daily work.

Cowboys

I am drawn to the act of seeing what often goes unseen—finding beauty in the overlooked and reimagining the familiar through a different lens. My work invites viewers to pause and consider the world from new perspectives, revealing layers of meaning and detail that might otherwise remain hidden in plain sight.

Between Light and Leaf

Bonanicals

This collection lingers in the quiet spaces of creation — where light meets leaf, where growth bends without breaking.

In the ordinary rhythms of provision, change, strength, and rest, I see reflections of a lived faith. Nothing here is hurried. Nothing is forced. Each image holds a moment of becoming.

Between light and leaf is a narrow space. It is where we are shaped — sustained, reaching, and finally held.

A Closer Look

I love uncovering the unseen—looking at something familiar and finding new ways to experience its beauty. My work invites viewers to see the everyday from a different perspective, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

I am continually inspired by the unseen details that surround us—those quiet elements of the everyday that often go unnoticed. My practice is rooted in reframing the familiar, inviting viewers to look closer and discover unexpected beauty in the ordinary.
